Half Hull Model Course
At the Sherbrooke Shipbuilding Shop,
The Historical Sherbrooke Village , Nova Scotia
Each attendee
will receive there own half hull that has been worked whether complete or not
you will take away your own model.
You will have
the choice of any one from two different models to make.
The Half Hull
Modeling Course will cover the following:-
Day one
An introduction to lines, lofting and
Half Block Models
- An introduction to the Sherbrooke
Shipbuilding Shop, and a general get together and registration.
- An introduction to the world of
ships/boat lines and lofting along with , and some history on the ships
that were built at Sherbrooke in the late 18th century and
early 19th century
- Some history on Half Hull Models
and there use along with your choice of which model to build
- Initial layout of the lines of
your model
Day two to Day five
The
actual design, Lofting and build process of your Half Hull Model
- You will layout and complete the
templates required to start the build of your model
- You will complete each waterline
section of the model
- Then join the “Lifts” to form the
rough outline of your model
- You will then complete the shaping
and carving of your own model
- You will then prepare your model
for its desired finish, and then paint or varnish your model
- Then you will mount the model on its back board and complete the brass name plate
- Congratulations your model is
ready to go with you to hang in a pride of place suitable to show off your
efforts

Cost for this fantastic
course is only $450.00 per person plus
$50.00 for materials (does not
include accommodation)
